With over 2000 miles stretching across 14 states the Appalachian Trail is a behemoth of a trail full of natural, cultural, and historical significance. We've had a taste of the variety of wilderness found on this trail from the steep hills of the Smokies to the grasslands of Grayson Highlands to the jagged peaks of Katahdin. Today we're exploring the rich world altering history found on the trail by visiting the psychological halfway point of the AT a section that passes through a town whose events set in motion the U.S Civil War and the emancipation of slaves. Join us on our hike through Harbors Ferry.
